I am so excited to start doing "tunesdays"! I thought it would be a good idea to share one of my favorite artists with you every Tuesday. well it might not be every Tuesday..but at least once or twice a month :) stick around to hear about some really talented artists! artist: BAHARIokay honestly I wasn't even sure if I wanted to talk about Bahari because they are my top favorite band of all time! I feel like I need to keep that a secret haha! I first heard them when they opened before DNCE for Selena Gomez during her Revival tour in 2016. Bahari has such a unique and different sound and they all sound so much alike but still have such differently sounding voices. what I love most about them is their use of instruments and that almost every song is a different genre of music. they can't really be defined as one single genre because they go from alternative to rock to pop, etc. I can't remember the last day I didn't watch a Bahari music video or interview...I seriously have seen every one that exists and I just keep rewatching them. their music has such a positive, beachy feel to it that is so inspiring to me OH and can we talk about the fact that they wear all white and they all have blonde hair!? I love that! it's so aesthetically pleasing and fits their style of music perfectly. so here's a little bit about each member of the band:
they all met at their studio, Rock Mafia, when they were working on personal projects. they wrote their first song together, Wild Ones, and finished it in only twenty minutes. "it's fun to sing with someone else." - Natalia from Meet Bahari vevo "we should do this more often." - Sidney from Meet Bahari vevo harmonizing works perfectly for them and they love to do it, so they harmonize almost every line.
They asked Ruby how to say different words in Swahili and came to the word 'ocean', which was 'Bahari'. They ran to the studio with it and said "we have a band name." the name fit them perfectly because they all grew up by the ocean and it's made a big impact in their lives. the songs from their first extended play, Dancing on the Sun, portray the magic of the "California lifestyle", where people from all over the world come to pursue their dreams. they like that their music doesn't have to be "tied down to a specific sound" said Ruby in Meet Bahari vevo. the reason they wear white is because for one thing, it makes them look like a band, but mainly because they think of it as a "blank canvas" for them to spread their message onto. they wanted the audience's focus to be on the music and not on what they're wearing. the three of them, now living together, have become sisters and as they perform, they hope to share their music and spread their positive message to everyone. I highly suggest that you search for their music because you will be so happy that you did! <3 A
